ella article by good ole me

i wrote an article for the april isue of the ella publishing ezine ellaments. it's about using some free online tools to jazz up your photos. i used photosheet to make the colalge above. thanks to the wonderful scrappers who contributed to the article. go take a peek and be sure to leave a comment! i'd love to write more - it is really fun to come up with ideas and execute on them once in awhile! ;)

wikimedia commons

i found this new source for creative commons photos called wikimedia commons. sometimes when i'm scrapping at night i have an idea for journaling and no photo to go with that idea. for instance, if i'm scrapping my need for coffee in the morning, the photo above would be just perfect!  wikimedia commons is a media file repository making available public domain and freely-licensed educational media content (images, sound and video clips) to everyone! i think this is pretty cool - go check it out - type in something in the search box and you'll find photos to go along with it! have fun!

sharing some projects

the my scrapbook nook april kit is available. it's a great mix of my minds eye quite contrary and jillibean items. here are some of my projects.

that woodgrain paper is not in the kit. i took some free digital paper from paper crave and recolored it. if you'd like the recolored file - feel free to email me and i'll send it along.

the april gallery at write.click.scrapbook is up. here's my page. go check out everyone else's - it's a great month!

download adobe photoshop lightroom 3 beta for free and play with it!

these are not free - but i'm in love with these vintage cabinet card frames from kitschy digitals (danielle thompson) and those doilies on the bottom and buttons are cool too. i think i might just have to get these!

these are baby invitations but i see all kinds of possibilities with that abc card
- it would look really cute framed in a kids room or on a page!

these are just round glass vases covered with scrapbook paper - so pretty!

these are not free - but boy do i want one for my new scraproom - i wish it came in orange!

printable to do lists!

a few more

because i barely made a dent...

::source
this mini-album of flower making tutorials is absolutely incredible. such a great resource!

::source
great way to use up a bunch of embellishments. i could see this with buttons, stars, and almost any lovely!

::source
while an actual children's chalboard was used here. you could buy a small container of green chalboard paint at the craft store and paint chipboard to make an album cover. i think it's darling!

::source
ok this is genius! i didn't know you could revive markers with water. amazing! next time we go through our marker stash i'm going to give it a try!

::source
free shaped photo collage templates. i don't know if you've noticed this, but a lot of paper scrappers are using photo collage templates, printing them out and putting them on layouts. you can find a tutorial on how to use the templates here.  here's an example where i used katie pertiet's photo cluster number 16 on a layout. if you shy away from multi-photo layouts - this is a great way to get back into them again. i'm not a tilt-er so having someone else tilt for me is freeing!

::source
find out how to make these cute flowers armed with a circle punch and some glue!

i still have 18 more to share! i'll be back tomorrow with more!
