a charity near to my heart and a giveaway

Here's the scoop...
As the world's leading breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is committed to ending breast cancer forever. On March 12, 2011, my step-mother will join thousands of others playing a part in the annual Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida Race for the Cure®. By making a donation on her behalf, you are supporting local breast cancer screening, treatment, education and outreach along with international research that will lead us to a world without breast cancer.

As someof you know, I lost my mother to breast cancer. My step-mother is a breast cancer survivor herself. My family has personally experienced the heartbreak, sadness and stress of this disease.

It is likely you know someone else who has been diagnosed with breast cancer perhaps you or your spouse, a relative, coworker, neighbor or friend someone in your life's circle who has heard the words, "You have breast cancer."

You see, breast cancer doesn't care so we have to care!

Her goal is to raise $1,500 this year. Please help her reach that goal with your financial support. Online donations are simple, and the site is secure. Please go to her fundraising page and make a tax-deductible donation online.

And my giveaway...
Make a donation to my step-mother's team (you can give as little as $1) and leave a comment below that you did. I'll enter your name in a drawing to win a flat rate box filled to the brim with scrapbooking supplies. I will pull the name next Sunday, October 17th.

On another note, what is wrong with Blogger? I can't upload photos? URGH! Excuse my caps today, LOL!

#1: Blogger seems to enjoy making me frustrated on a regular basis. I have to upload directly from Picasa or else it is all crazy...and the Template Designer? ugh.

#2: My mom had ovarian cancer, and I know how hard it can be. I can't donate so no need to enter me in the giveaway, but I wanted to send some cheer for your step-mom. She should be celebrated!!

Good luck with your goal!

HI Celeste,

I've just made a donation for your StepMom. We have a history of Cancer in our family, too, and are thankful for each healthy day.

Blessings and Hugs to All!
