hey there hoppers. if you aren't joining me from amy sorenson's blog, hop on back to the beginning for all the crazy details!
happy birthday 3rd write.click.scrapbook! i've been with write.click.scrapbook from the very beginning. there are not too many of us pioneers left. simple was gone and i felt a little homeless when the email came to join write.click.scrapbook i whooped! i stay because i have a found a group of like-minded women who have similar scrapbooking beliefs - that it is the story that matters most - then a little good design, some good photography, and a burst of color. these ladies are so filled with talent and provide me with inspiration every day. i feel like i belong here. what's not to love?
one little shout out before i go on. marnie flores is the beauty and brains behind write.click.scrapbook. we would be nothing without marnie. she plots, plans, nudges, shoves, designs, markets, writes, problem solves and does a million other things that make this site shine everyday. without her, there would be no write.click.scrapbook. she's along the stops here, so please when you get to her site LEAVE HER SOME LOVE, say THANK YOU, because truly she is IT.
this month our gallery is themed perfect pairs. we were to draw inspiration from our design team partner whether that be a page, a post or any other prompt that we fancied. our themes are really loose because it makes for interesting galleries! i drew the magnificent christa paustenbaugh, so i headed off to her gallery at write.click.scrapbook to see what i could find. i didn't have to go far. may 2012's gallery included this lovely...
i decided that i just had to lift this page. so here is my take on her masterpiece...
i took my inspiration from the hexagons on her page as well as the large flag element and title treatment. i tried to put my own spin on it shrinking the overall area and adding some layered papers behind the main design.
